Margaret's Obituary
On January 13, 2026, Margaret suffered an abrupt medical event and died in the company of her mother and in the loving arms of her father. She has left this temporal home to dwell in the peaceful, loving embrace of her Heavenly Father.
Margaret considered “people” her superpower. She delighted in entering a room of strangers and leaving with a list of new friends. Her passion for people and relieving their hurt led her first to Cedarville University for a degree in psychology, where she thrived in her field, even contributing to a published study in 2022. She was proud to be continuing her training in psychology through the pursuit of a doctoral degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., at the time of her passing.
Margaret was a profoundly joyous and resilient person who was adored by her family and her tight friend group. While she loved games, Broadway, travel, and cat cafes (we’re not sure in what order as all with such great enthusiasm), what she valued above all was meaningful connection with people.
Through these connections, Margaret brought joy and light to everyone she encountered; her vast compassion was felt by cherished friends and strangers alike. She loved listening to people and had a deep warmth and wisdom that allowed others to open up and feel safe in her presence.
Margaret is deeply mourned by her parents, Daniel and Margaret “Peggy” Judge; her siblings, Elizabeth (Matthew) Collins, Rebekah Judge, Paul (Theresa) Judge, Sarah (Moody) Behery, Christina Judge, Leah Judge, Samuel (Molly) Judge, Timothy (Victoria) Judge, and Nathanael Judge; her nieces, Raelyn, Adelaide, Myra, Cordelia, and Felicity; her nephew, Daniel; her beloved cats, Cleo and Beans; and her many extended family, friends, and colleagues.
We are grateful for her light in our lives for the past 24 years. Her departure creates innumerable voids for the many people who had the privilege of knowing her. We love her and miss her.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, January 18 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, MI 49103. A funeral service and reception will be held at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center, MI 49102, beginning at 11:00 am on Monday, January 19. There will be a short visitation at 10:00 am at the church preceding the funeral. Please feel free to sign Margaret’s online guestbook at www.heritage-chapel.com.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be directed to Five Pines Ministries in Berrien Center, where Margaret spent childhood summers as a camper and later as a counselor, or to the Karma Kat Cafe & Rescue in Mt Pleasant, where Margaret spent many delightful hours during her grad program.
