Mary Anne's Obituary

Mary Anne Simonton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 17, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 4:00pm, at Oakridge Community Church – 766 Oakridge Dr., St. Joseph, MI. Private committal services will be held.

Mary Anne was born on June 18, 1943, in Kalamazoo, MI, to Hector and Elizabeth (DeWall) Quevillion. She grew up with a great group of friends, whom she loving referred to as “The Mill Street Gang.” There are so many fun and crazy stories she has told over the years of all their silly antics.

Mary Anne was at a skating rink when she was a teenager, reaching for the hand of a boy she was going to skate with, when all of a sudden, a handsome man sped between them and grabbed her by the waist and the took off. She later married that handsome man, Paul Simonton, who literally swept her off her feet, on September 16, 1961.;

To Mary Anne, her family was everything. She was a wonderful mother, who had her three babies in 20 months time! She dearly loved her husband and kids, along with her grandchildren and great grandsons. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, word games, traveling, cooking, and thrift shopping.

The most important aspect of her life was her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We have the utmost confidence that she is in heaven with him right now. Through the years, she would hold Bible studies in her home, where others also made life commitments with Jesus Christ.

Mary Anne is survived by her 3 children – Scott (June) Simonton, Lisa (Peter) Boehm and Julie (Klaus, Jr) Zielke; her grandchildren – Phillip (Emily) Boehm, Jasmine Boehm, Klaus (Amy) Zielke III, and Collin (Allie) Zielke; and three great grandsons – Aiden Coleman, Seth Boehm and Klaus Zielke IV; and her precious dog Sophie. She is also survived by her brother – Dr. Robert Quevillion; and sister – Carol Fleck. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her father, mother and husband.
