Mary E. Place, 64, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Animal Shelter or Calvary Pentecostal Church. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com.
Mary was born February 7, 1958, in Detroit, to Michael Stemple and Grace (Parks) Taylor. She married Everett Place on March 18, 1992. Mary enjoyed crafting and making holiday cards to send to her family and friends. She had a love for animals, and had adopted many over the years. Mary loved spending time with her husband going fishing and hunting. She had strong faith in God and was a long-time member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Hartford. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Everett Place; step-children, Regina Miller, Yolanda (Jeff) Went, and Chad (Susie) Place; grandchildren, Vanessa (Drew Nagy) Siciliano, Nick Miller, Tiffany (Chad) Bately, Stephany Ball and Dani Place; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Victor Stemple, Pamela (Scott) Clifford, Tammy Ann Keene and Will Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Stemple and Grace Taylor.
