Maudie's Obituary

Maudie Agnes Walker, 92, passed away peacefully, on her birthday, Sunday, October 26, 2025, with her loving niece present.
Born October 26, 1933, in Stella, Arkansas, to Alvin and Zela (White) Haynes.
Maudie was an incredibly intelligent, hardworking woman who received her master’s degree in English and taught for the Department of Defense in both Taiwan and Guam. In addition, she worked as a high school english teacher for over 40 years in the Tampa, Florida school system.
Surviving are her brother – Willie (Mitzi) Haynes; one niece and 5 nephews; and a multitude of grand and great – nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband – Donald Walker; parents – Alvin and Zela Haynes; sister – Jamy Courtney and brother – JC Haynes.
Honoring Maudie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and her family will be celebrating her life at a graveside service at Grand Junction Cemetery.
