Melanie Elaine Murphy June 7th, 1975-November 7th 2025
Melanie Elaine Murphy, 50 years old, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away peacefully at home and around family on November 7th of 2025.
Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, she was a popular girl and woman who loved to laugh. She spent her childhood in Stevensville and then Baroda and looks back on her childhood fondly. Her favorite things to share were jokes and smiles. Her fondest memories from childhood include her days as a thespian in forensics under the direction of Alex Kerr and playing the flute in marching and symphonic band with the Lakeshore Lancer band. under the direction of Lori VonKoenig. She spent time at Lake Michigan College, studying nursing, where she met her first husband and the father of her children, Michael Daniel. She spent some time working on the pediatric floor at Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI as an NA. After that, she spent time at Whirlpool, working on digital claims and going to school to get her bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix. She then joined the team at Allied Business Solutions as an insurance investigator, decorating her in-person office and at-home offices with her Yoda collectibles. Every place she worked, she found friends and is remembered by how often she made people smile just by her being there.
Melanie will always be remembered by how she lit up a room, and love, light, and laughter everywhere she went. The world will be left a little quieter in her absence.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Michael Daniel and her mother Carole Easton. She is survived by her husband John Murphy, and her three children Madison (Cole), Merrick, and Maven, her father Ron Easton, her sister Anne (Rick), her niece Cat, and her nephew Oliver.
