Missy's Obituary

Melissa (Missy) Gaddie-Jakubs, 58, of Baroda, MI, was called home on January 3, 2026, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St Joseph, MI. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Stevensville, MI. A burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Stevensville, MI and/or the Berrien County Cancer Society. Missy was born on January 29, 1967, in St Joseph, MI to Harold & Frankie Gaddie. She married her husband Jim Jakubs on June 30, 1990, and together they have been married for 35 years. Missy was passionate about camping, being outdoors and spending time with her family, friends and her fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frankie Gaddie, her Father-in-Law and Stepmother Ed & Edith Jakubs and Mother-in-Law Carol Jakubs. Missy is survived by her husband Jim Jakubs, her children Taylor Jakubs (Kaitlyn), Jillian Jakubs, her grandchildren Annalise and Cody. She is also survived by her father, Harold Gaddie, sisters Kim (Dale) Blaess, Teresa Schueneman, Karla Root, sister-in-law Janet (Karl) Price, brothers-in-law, John (Paula) Jakubs, Jerry (Lucinda) Jakubs and several nieces and nephews.
