Michael Joseph Bober, 77, of Dowagiac, died Thursday, January 29th, 2026.
Mike was born August 24, 1948, in Hammond, IN to Joseph & Dolores (Vranken) Bober. After graduating from high school, Mike pursued an Associate’s degree in Accounting. He was then drafted to Vietnam and became a highly decorated war hero earning 2 bronze stars, 1 with “V” device for valor in combat in which he saved many lives. Soon thereafter, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Jansky, in Whiting, Indiana. Mike and Kathy adored raising their three children – Karen, Robert and Joseph. Mike spent his career as a computer programmer analyst at Williams Group, working many years for Godfrey Marine. In his free time, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching trivia game shows.
Michael is survived by his mother – Dolores Bober; children – Karen Lynn (Jerad) Bice, Robert William (Ashley Wilson) Bober, and Joseph Raymond (Jessica) Bober; 5 grandchildren – Dakota, Blake, Ava, Bailey and Bradley; and brothers – Paul (Susan) Bober and Jim (Jan) Bober. Michael was preceded in death by his wife - Kathleen; father – Joseph Bober; and brother – Tom Bober.
