Michael Todd Tilly, 60, of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Corewell Health Lakeland Niles.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 12-4 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Arthur Dodd Memorial Park, 61437 Creek Rd., Niles.

Michael was born on October 21, 1965, in Niles, MI. He attended Buchanan High School. Professionally, Michael began his working life as a truck driver for many years before pursuing hi entrepreneurial spirit through woodworking, landscaping, and handyman services. He was a highly talented woodworker who took great pride in his craft.
At heart, Michael was an outdoorsman. He cherished the time he spent working alongside his father, Dale, tending to hay and cutting wood over the years. He also had a deep appreciation for cars and tractors, enjoying them both as hobbies.
Known for his quick wit, Michael had a knack for delivering memorable one-liners. He seemed to know everyone and was widely liked and respected throughout the community. Above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and his warm, genuine smile.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Ryan) Steiner of Edwardsburg; son, Blaine Backus of Buchanan; grandchildren, Alexis Faunce, Anthony Faunce and Nevaeh Backus; great-granddaughter, Nova Lee Faunce; sister, Sharon (Larry) Camp; stepmother, Sherrill Tilly; girlfriend, Angie Hamilton and beloved dog, Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Graves; father, Dale Tilly and daughter, Salina Tilly.
