Michael's Obituary

Michael K. Trigg, 74, of Buchanan, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Corewell Health, Niles.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, 115 W. Front St., Buchanan. Memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Buchanan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan. Mike was born on October 29, 1948, to Robert and Genevieve (Fritz) Trigg in Elkhart, IN. He graduated from Concord High School, class of 1967. Mike honorably served in the United States Army as a Medic, Seargent and was a Vietnam Veteran. Professionally, he was employed in the automotive industry, most of his career in management for various body shops in the area. He was a member of the Buchanan American Legion, Post 51.

On July 15, 1978, Mike married Donna K. Shreve at First Presbyterian Church, Buchanan. He loved spending time on Baron Lake where he often enjoyed tubing and boating with his family. Mike was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, attending many games over the years. He also took a lot of pride in his yard, whether landscaping, gardening or maintaining his grounds.

Mike liked to golf and had an interest in old cars, restoring several over the years. He also had a passion for barbecue and cooking. Mike was a proud father and strongly supported his children through their athletics and extracurricular activities, an attribute that continued to his grandchildren. Everyone was a friend to Mike and he enjoyed hosting. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Trigg; children, Wendy (Joe) Culver, Jennifer Bailey, Matthew (Kimberly) Trigg and Aaron (Ashley) Trigg; grandchildren, Faith, Ava, Charles, Jillian, Julia, Matthew II “Deuce”, Avery, Chelsea, Brooklyn, Levi, Alex, MyKayla, Maddison, Molly and Felix; great-grandchildren, Theodore, Skylar, Carson and Taylor; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Trigg, Ruth Prenkert, Jo Ellen (Michael) Busch and niece, Mari Trigg Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Genevieve Trigg and brother, Robert Trigg.
