Lil's Obituary

Mildred “Lil” Pridavka, 95, of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at home with her family at her side.

A celebration of life gathering will take place from 5-8 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan. The memorial service for Mildred will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 15, also at the funeral home with Pastor David Mitchell of Faith Victory Fellowship officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Victory Fellowship, 13369 N. Main St., Buchanan. Lil was born on December 31, 1928, to David and Gertrude (Owens) Skinner in Shelburn, IN. Gertrude passed early in Mildreds life, and her older sisters moved to Buchanan where Lil, her father and the rest of the family would soon follow. Alongside her six sisters, Lil worked at the Buchanan Grill, a popular diner, known for its homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings served 24 hours a day catering especially to the Clark Equipment Co. crowd during WWII.

Lil graduated from Buchanan High School and continued her professional journey with Electro-Voice, dedicating many years as a switchboard operator before retiring. She found joy in nurturing her flower beds and was an avid cleaner. Including all indoor cleaning, laundry, dusting, outdoor cleaning, garage floor scrubbing, washing cars, always keeping things in immaculate condition.
Lil was also a charter member of Faith Victory Fellowship, joining at its inception when it was a bible study group. She has remained a devoted and cherished member throughout her life. Known for her servant’s heart, Lil was always attentive to those in need and sought opportunities to extend grace and assistance.

Mildred is survived by her son, Michael (Eydie) Pridavka; two granddaughters, Niki Pridavka and Nina (Lucas Birch) Pridavka and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, David and Gertrude Skinner; husband of 60 years, Michael A. Pridavka, Jr.; sisters, Lois Skinner, Mary Banke, Lila Sullivan, EmmaLee Huggett, Jean Schneider, Murial Jerue and brothers, Lauren Skinner and Robert Skinner.
