Nancy's Obituary
Nancy Jane Herrman, 70, of Buchanan, MI passed away in her home on Sat., Feb. 8, 2025. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel – 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI 49107.
Nancy was born on July 9, 1954, in South Bend, IN, to the late Forrest and Evelyn (Smith) Gardiner. She was a 1972 graduate of River Valley High School. Nancy married William Herrman on July 21, 1973, in Buchanan, MI.
Nancy worked for Gardiner Well Drilling with her father, brother and son for 10 years followed by Woodland Terrace, where she found her true calling to bring love and joy to others as Activities Director for 25 years.
Nancy loved her grandchildren and her family so much. She enjoyed simple things in life such as planting flowers, landscaping with her husband and directing him on how to correctly help her with that. She also loved watching the birds and deer from her window.
Nancy was the life of the party and always lit up the room with her laugh and smile. Don’t forget if there was a Seahawks game on you can bet, she was watching it!
Nancy is survived by her husband, William; children, Shawn (Tammie) Herrman of Buchanan, MI and Dana (Matt) Johnson of Chanhassen, MN; grandchildren, Lane and Lexi Herrman and Drew and Jenna Johnson; and several brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Weds., Feb. 12, 2025 at 5:30pm, at Swem Chapel in Buchanan. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 4:00-5:30pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice.
