Nate's Obituary
More than anything, Nate loved being surrounded by family and friends, and spent most of his time doing so. His surviving family includes; his parents; step mothers Eden and Sonya; his sisters, Olivia, Karlee, Faith, Jade, Desirae and Vivienne; his brother, Landon; paternal Grandparents, John and Joyce Scherer Jr of Dowagiac, MI; maternal Grandparents, Denise and Eugene Barker of Hartford, MI, Jon Lala of New Orleans, LA; maternal great grandparents, Helen Lala of New Orleans, LA; aunt and uncles, Kelli (Jerry) Casey of Dowagiac, MI, Scott Scherer and Karmen Grady of Dowagiac, MI, Natalie Contreras and Pete Molter of Hartford, MI, Edward Contreras of Hartford, MI; nephew, Sawyer Bowen; cousins, Alvaro Scherer, Allan Scherer, Harvey Scherer, Alexa Scherer, Ashton Scherer, Alyssa Vanderburg, Madelyn Casey, Liliana Contreras, and Liam Contreras.
Nate passed away on April 6, 2024. He was preceded by his big brother John “John John” Scherer IV; best friend, Cole Birkhead; paternal great grandparents, Allan and Frances Franz, paternal great grandparents, John and Amelia Scherer; maternal great grandparents, Gordon and Mary Hopson. His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd, St Joseph, MI where there will be a funeral service Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00am. He will be laid to rest following the service at Keeler Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to convene after services for food at the Pokagon Band Community Center, 27043 Potawatomi Trail, Dowagiac, MI. Memorials may be made through your local chapter for Future Farmers of America. Please take the opportunity to sign his guestbook and leave a memory of Nate at www.starks-menchinger.com.
