Nick's Obituary

Nicola “Nick” Amicarelli, 91, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully Monday, September 23, 2024 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Thursday, September 26 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI where friends may visit with the family from 5pm until 7pm Thursday. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Nick was born April 5, 1933 in Agnone, Italy to Remo and Giacomina Amicarelli. He came to the United States in 1955. He met the love of his life Frances (Dolli) Ambrosini and they were married July 26, 1958 in Youngstown, OH. They moved to SW Michigan in 1973, where he and Dolli owned and operated Roma Pizzeria of New Buffalo for 35 years. Nick loved his employees, customers and community dearly.

Nick was an entertainer at heart. His love was to open his home and his restaurant to share in a good meal, a good glass of wine and good company. Nick and his wife enjoyed their numerous travels together. Some of Nick’s favorite activities were fishing, hunting and making his famous meatball recipe. To Nick, family was everything. It was the center of his world, and he and Dolli loved attending any and all school events for their children and grandchildren.

Nick is survived by his children, Jacquie (John) Godush of Stevensville. Remo (Julie) Amicarelli of Baroda. Seven grandchildren, John (Meg) Godush, Alexis (Kyle) Johns, Angela Godush, Nicole (Crystal) Amicarelli, Natalie Amicarelli, Nina (John) Amicarelli-Page, Nadia Amicarelli. Four Great-Grandchildren, Vincent & Luca Johns and Lena & Remo Amicarelli-Page. Nick is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Amicarelli, on December 23, 2019. His parents, Remo and Giacomina Amicarelli and siblings, Irene, Fernando, Alessandro and Ana Maria.
