Nola's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nola “kookie” Ann Stevens 78, of Decatur, Michigan. Nola passed away comfortably on February 13,2026 surrounded by her loved ones.
Nola was born in LaPorte, Indiana on April 21,1947 to George Poland and Earline Johnson. She was a loving sister to Michael and Butch. Nola was mother to Kurtis Hawkins whom she raised with love and devotion. She leaves behind her son, daughter-in-law Candy Hawkins 5 grandchildren, Justin (Amanda) Hawkins, Ashley Eichel, Jordan Hawkins, Skyler (Victoria)Hawkins, and Kyle(Lexi ) Hawkins and her 10 loving great grandchildren.
Nola was a source of love and warmth to everyone she interacted with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her generosity knew no limit and her gentle nature touched the lives of countless people she will be remembered for her spunky attitude, and her jokester personality.
She is gone but never forgotten.
Nola’s memorial service will be held on February 28th,2026 at 12:00pm
Trinity Bible Church with pastor Wiles officiating.
