Jean's Obituary
Norma “Jean” Dyrcz, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday February 8, 2024, in Portage, MI. She was born October 1, 1932, in Paw Paw, MI to the late Harold and Thelma (Sandberg) Sherburn.
Jean was a long-time resident of Decatur, Michigan, where her and her husband Stan raised 3 boys. Jean worked at Decatur Public Schools for many years, retiring when she was 79. Those that knew her knew how much she loved Christmas, collecting Santa Clause's and villages. Family & friends could always look forward to her coffee cakes and goodie plate at Christmas time. She will be remembered and missed by those that knew her.
Surviving are her sister – Shirley Parsons of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law – Georgia Dyrcz of Fair Oaks, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband – Stanley Dyrcz; three children – Larry Dyrcz, Tony Dyrcz, and Terry Dyrcz; siblings, Ray Sherburn and Bonnie Sherburn.
A private burial will take place at Hamilton Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial contributions may be given to Cass County Council on Aging. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newell Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Decatur. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.newellchapel.com
