Pearl's Obituary

Ollie Pearl Brown, 82, of Dowagiac, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026, at Corewell Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI.

She was born on May 3, 1943, in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Albert Turner and Lula (Mosley) Murray. On December 5, 1958, Pearl was united in marriage to David Brown.

Surviving are 6 children, Ricky Brown Jr, Suzette (Wardel) Smith, David J. Brown, Jeannette (Andy) Fitchett, Vance (Crystal) Brown, and Ricky D. Brown; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, ID Thompson, and Arquilla Turner; special cousin, Patricia (Harold Beckhum) Murray; best friend, Annie Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 39 years, David Brown; step-son, Lee White; and brother, Ardel Turner.

A service in celebration of Pearl’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, at Second Baptist Church, 203, S. Paul St, Dowagiac, where friends may visit with her family from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at Mission Hills Memory Gardens, Niles.

Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
