Otto's Obituary

Otto Price, Sr., 106, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Battle Creek, MI. He was born December 2, 1915 in Baldwin, MS to Rosetta (Price) Price.

The family will receive guests from 11am until time of Celebration of Life at 12pm, Monday, September 26, 2022 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur. Burial with military rites to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur.

Otto was a proud WWII Army veteran. He worked as a small engine mechanic and assisted in bulldozing areas for landing strips. That work carried over after his service, as he enjoyed repairing engines, especially on his lawn mowers later in life. He also was an avid gardener. Otto was a lifelong member of the VFW in Decatur and an active member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. He will be remembered for his helpful nature, and loving spirit; he will be missed by many.

Otto is survived by his son, Otto (Rosie) Price, Jr.; his grandchildren, Lisa Barnett, Thomas Barnett, Niecy Barnett, Latoya Barnett, Shamika Barnett, Sonia Harris, Tyrone Price, Barbara Price, Mary Colar, Jennifer Green, Otto Price III, Marcus, Sherre, and Phillip Smith, Sadie Jones, Cynthia Branch, James Jones, Vera Jones, and Frankie Jones; numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; and his siblings, Charlie Tyse, and Mandy Easley.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cossette Price; his children, Addie Barnett, and Lula Mae Jones; his grandchildren, Stan Barnett, Lawanda Barnett, James Tyse, and Menda Howard; nine siblings; and his parents.
