Pamela's Obituary

Pamela C. Swinehart, 78, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Beacon Hospital Dowagiac.

Born on March 14, 1948, in Dowagiac, Pam was the beloved daughter of the late Lee and Isabell (Smith) Cox. She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School with the Class of 1966 and went on to dedicate more than 30 years of hard work and loyalty to Siemens Manufacturing, formerly known as Dana Corp.

On November 15, 1969, Pam married the love of her life, Dennis L. Swinehart. Together, they built a life filled with simple joys and lasting memories. They shared a love for the outdoors, often spending time camping, taking road trips, and especially enjoying motorcycle rides. Those moments of adventure were cherished, but nothing meant more to Pam than the time she spent with her family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Pam will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 56 years, Dennis; her brother, H. Dean (Laura) Cox; brother-in-law, Ed (Rita) Swinehart; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her six siblings, Connie Wilds, Larry Cox, LeRoy Cox, Sharon Dingler, Michael Cox, and Patricia Frontczak.

Honoring Pam’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her family will celebrate her life privately, remembering her warmth, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely.

Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
