Patricia's Obituary

Patricia Klaeren, 84, of Buchanan, MI formerly of IL passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 P.M.(EST) , Friday, May 9, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 509 W. Fourth St., Buchanan, MI 49107 with Father Emanuel Mbah officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00P.M. Friday at the church.

A second visitation will take place at Brust Funeral Home at 135 S. Main Street, Lombard, Il 60148 on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 14, 2025 at Assumption Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1 S. 510 Winfield Rd., Wheaton IL 60189

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony Catholic Church at 509 W. 4th Street, Buchanan, MI 49107 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.com

Patricia was born October 1, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Michael & Josephine (Borowski) Baran. She graduated from Saint Casimir High School in IL before graduating from St. Anthony DePadua Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. Patricia worked as a nurse in Chicago at St. Anthony's Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital. On November 3, 1962 she married Edward Klaeren in Chicago, IL. They spent most of their married years in the Chicagoland area raising their family before retiring in Buchanan, MI in 1997.

Patricia was very generous in giving to charities and donating her time and talents to the church. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, crafts and gardening. Patricia was also a bird lover and adored her cat Honey.

Patricia is survived by her children Jeffrey (Cecille) Klaeren, Jean (Steve) Gross, Thomas Klaeren, Terrianne Klaeren, Julia (James) Shepard and Jennifer (Ryan) Lipps, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Anthony Baran.
