Pat's Obituary
Pat Strawn was born on Christmas Day, 1933, to Carolyn and Don Colwell in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Remembering her with joy are daughters Cheri (Ross) Stein and Julie (Tom) Brill. Grandchildren Danny Stein and Jack (Lewis) Steller, along with great grandchildren Lilly Stein and Solan Steller, have fun and loving memories to keep Gma Pat close. Also survived by sister-in law Linda Colwell. Best friends Marie Popp and Jesse Cat were her favorite company.
Parents Don, Carolyn and Brother Gary Colwell preceded Pat in death.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education and taught 5th and 6th grades in Appalachia for several years before moving to Michigan. She raised two daughters to believe they could do anything they chose to make happen. She forged a career in university administration at University of Michigan and retired from Kalamazoo College. After moving to South Haven, Pat volunteered many years for We Care, South Haven Center for the Arts Board, Scott Club Board, and Kentwood Public Schools Meadowlawn Elementary. She took part in the South Haven Memorial Library Book Club, Senior Center Euchre group, Art time, and exercise classes.
