Peggy's Obituary
Mrs. Peggy Anne Alsup, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, May 3 at Riverview Park Christian Church, 2929 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085 with Pastor Dan Robinson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at the church. Memorial contributions in Peggy’s memory may be directed to Berrien County Cancer Service, Riverview Park Christian Church or Caring Circle of Spectrum Health Lakeland.
Peggy was born on March 31, 1943 to Charles and Minnie (Thurston) Banks in Benton Harbor. She met the love of her life, Frank Alsup, when she was in high school and the two have been inseparable ever since. They were married on July 23, 1960 in Benton Harbor and celebrated 63 years of marriage. After raising their three children, Peggy joined Frank in owning and operating their family business, Alsup Painting, Inc for 25 years.
Peggy was a longtime member of Riverview Park Christian Church where she involved in various church groups and roles. You could always find Peggy at the helm in her leadership role at church, especially the last five years. She enjoyed serving her congregation in any capacity, including her love of cooking. She also enjoyed attending various car shows with Frank. Most importantly, was the love Peggy had for her family and the time spent with them. Peggy cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved all the memories made with them.
Peggy will be missed by her husband, Frank; children, Jeffrey Alsup and Kristi Bradford (Hans Scheper); grandchildren, Marshall (Elizabeth) Alsup and Tucker Alsup, Aaron (Carly) Alsup, and Kaelyn (Robert) Goss and Birch Bradford; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Alsup, parents, and siblings.
