Peggy's Obituary
Peggy Luettjohann, 88, of Petoskey, MI passed away Friday, November 22, 2024, in St. Joseph, MI.
Peggy was born July 12, 1936 in Petoskey, MI to Melvin & Jessie (Winegarden) Lowry. The family moved to Harbor Springs shortly after her birth and she graduated from Harbor Springs High School in 1954. On November 5, 1955 she married John Luettjohann. Peggy retired from Michigan Bell Telephone as an operator. She also worked at Little Traverse Hospital for many years as an X-Ray clerk. After retirement, she and John moved to Stevensville, MI where she remained for 20 years until after John’s death when she decided to return back to Petoskey. Peggy enjoyed volunteering on the election board and most recently at the Friendship Center in Petoskey. Peggy, a social butterfly, was instrumental in keeping everyone together by organizing class reunions, golf outings, and co-worker luncheons. Peggy and John enjoyed traveling for many years to Myrtle Beach and Texas. They also loved to spend their time golfing and going to the casino. She kept herself busy with water aerobics, exercising, bus trips with friends, going to the movies, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Bill) Morris, Tracy (James) Walter and Brenda (Keith Hayes) Rohde; grandchildren, Keenan (Rebecca) McFall, Payton McFall, Kevin (Stephanie) Morris, Trevor Morris, Ryan (Crystle) Morris, Justin (Anna Newlin) Rohde and Joshua Rohde; great grandchildren, Sterling McFall, Brida McFall, Crystopher Morris, RyAnn Morris, Locke Morris, Novella Rohde and Ryker Deal-Newlin; and sister, Mary (Walt) Granstra.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service. A Memorial will be held at her home on December 21, 11a.m with coffee and donuts. Her address is 2150 Woods Lane, Petoskey. Parking will be at the Meijer and rides will be provided up the hill to her house. Burial will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Harbor Springs, MI. Donations in Peggy’s name may be made to Harbor
