When Phil was looking for his birth mother he left a note on my dad's front door saying he thought my mother was his birth mother. He was close by not the right mother. His mother was my Aunt Mildred (Hardy) my mother's sister. So began a life with a new relative. From what little I saw if him he was a very nice person to be related to. I can only say he will be missed by more than one family.

Uncle Phil was a contemplative, thoughtful and extraordinarily gentle man. He was removed from his birth father’s care because he was left to raise him alone. And my mother and her siblings grieved his loss so deeply. They were all in tears when they found each other again many years later. He became very dear to us quickly.
He was devoted to his core to family and it was my honor to know him and to share that love.
He spoke constantly of his Jenny, quietly about the loss of his infants, and so tenderly about his reunion with his lost siblings. I know my mother was there to meet him in heaven.

Mr. Phillip M. Spencer was a very kind person. I met him on Valentine's Day 2023 at the Cass County Council on Aging. We shared many things and attended many events together including a presentation about bees and their ability to make honey! His Sunflower field was awesome and it was cool when he brought me some Sunflower petals that he picked off some plants! I appreciated many subjects we discussed and he provided me with the motivation to continue my education! I truly will miss my buddy Phil. Blessings to him and his family. Sheryl A. Johnson, MA
