Bob was born on May 12, 1928, to Anton and Anna Ball in Stevensville, MI. He attended Stevensville High School where he played basketball and tennis, and graduated with the Class of 1947. On June 5, 1948, Bob married the love of his life, Maryanne at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph.
Bob dedicated 40 years to Whirlpool Corporation, working in Quality Control before retiring in 1987.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending countless hours on Lake Michigan in pursuit of salmon. He was a devoted family man who loved gathering for picnics on the beach and taking his family water skiing on the St. Joe River.
In retirement, Bob and Maryanne remained active in the community, especially through the St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Service Center, where they participated in a variety of activities, including many games of cards and dominoes. He and Maryanne also cherished their travels together, creating lasting memories on many wonderful trips over the years. Above all, Bob treasured the time spent with his family.
Bob is survived by his children, Gaylann (Barbara Wray) Ball, Amara “Amy” (Wayne) Houck and Vincen (Elizabeth) Ball; grandchildren, Hilary (Kurk) Petterson, Dustin (Megan) Houck and Vincent (Meghan) Ball; great-grandchildren, Austin Houck, Madelynn Houck and one great-grandchild due in September.
