Robert "Bob" Clarence's Obituary
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 61 years, Marilyn Morris. Their love story began in a Hartford diner when Marilyn mistakenly said “Hi, Bob” to the wrong Bob—a moment that would spark a lifetime together. After hours of cruising the strip that evening, Bob confidently declared he would marry her. True to his word, they wed on July 24, 1964, and built a beautiful life rooted in love, hard work, and family.
He leaves behind a legacy in his children: Robert Morris Jr. (Trish), Brian Morris (Michelle), and Monica Cole (Jim); and his grandchildren: Derrik Morris (Alexis), Heather Morris, Charlene Morris, Katie Morris, Jaidyn Morris, Kasey Cole, Cameron Cole, and Jordyn Morris. His great-grandchildren Kaidence Hayes, Ben Hartlerode, Harper Morris, and Lincoln Fisher will grow up hearing the many stories of his kindness, humor, and generosity. He is also survived by his sisters Louise Tuberville and Patricia Olive (Gary), along with many extended family members and friends.
Bob was a man of boundless energy, talent, and vision. A true entrepreneur, he spent his life building and growing businesses in excavation, construction, real estate, and auctions. For over 40 years, he worked as a dedicated realtor and proudly served as the broker of Sun Coast Realty for more than three decades. His leadership extended beyond business as he served as a committed board member for the Van Buren County Health Department for 39 years.
Known for his work ethic, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family, Bob was a pillar of strength and a role model to many. Whether running heavy machinery, selling homes, or calling bids as an auctioneer, Bob approached life with joy, determination, and a heart full of care for others.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and integrity will live on through the many lives he touched.
