Robert's Obituary
Robert W. Trowbridge, 89, of Sodus, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11 AM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 4056 King Dr., Sodus, MI, where burial will also take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Robert was born on November 23, 1935, in Hornersville, MO, to Iver “Shorty” & Tilly (Stanberry) Trowbridge. On March 28, 1956, Robert married the love of his life, Amy Brown, in DeSoto County, MS. The two were happily married for 68 years before her passing in 2024. Professionally, Robert worked in construction throughout his life, first for Yerington Construction and then for Consumers before he retired. During the summer months, Robert spent his days at Melville’s Campground fishing and spending time with his friends and loyal four-legged companion, Rusty. Robert liked attending and hosting fish frys to enjoy in the labor of his hard work fishing. An avid fan of Notre Dame sports, Robert loved cheering on and supporting the Fighting Irish, as well as, watching Dale Earnhardt, Jr in NASCAR. His hard-working personality and skills at telling stories will be missed by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his children, Gina (John) Dykema of Dowagiac, Laurie (Steve) Ferrell of Temecula, CA, and Sandy (Mark) Hart of Temechula, CA; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Amy Trowbridge; son, Scott Trowbridge; and multiple brothers & sisters.
