Roberta's Obituary
Roberta E. Smith, 91 of South Haven, formerly of Flint, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022. Born to Creston and Calicia Herman on February 12, 1931 in Montrose Michigan. United in marriage to the late Edward F. (Ted) Smith on August 9, 1952, in Flint Michigan.
Roberta is survived by her only child Marla (Marty) Zwolan, grandchildren; Stephanie Zwolan Gonzalez (Jason), Christopher Zwolan and brother Edmund (Shirley) Herman.
Roberta was a 1948 graduate of Montrose High School. She then went on to achieve an Associate Degree from Flint Junior College. Roberta worked at Citizens bank after college and again later in life. She enjoyed her coworkers and was an active member of the Citizens Bank Ladies Golf League. Roberta was a devoted Christian, and met the love of her life, Ted, at church. She was a very active woman, an avid gardener, golfer and nature lover. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was very involved in the Salvation Army Church in Flint for many years.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents Creston and Calicia Herman and husband of 65 years Edward (Ted) Smith.
The family would like to thank the staff at River Ridge Assisted Living, Bronson South Haven Hospital and Caring Circle Hospice for their kindness and care of Roberta. Many thanks also to the staff of Woodhaven Assisted Living in Flint Township where Roberta previously resided.
A Memorial Service for Roberta will be held at Sharp Funeral Home in Swartz Creek Michigan, on August 6th, 2022 with Major Kathy Hellstrom officiating.
