Robin's Obituary

Robin Elaine Wilson, 60, of Sister Lakes passed away July 13, 2022 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville. She was born March 16, 1962 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Kenneth Craig McCoy and Inez Elaine Anthony (Leck), and lovingly raised by them and stepparents, Mary McCoy and Ronald Leck.

Robin was the 1979 homecoming queen and a 1980 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. Soon after graduation, she met Todd Wilson, and they were married May 26, 1984. The two shared a love of good music, though Todd admits Robin’s taste often surpassed his own. Together they raised their beloved children, Brandon and Kendra, in their Magician Lake home of 36 years. Robin spent countless hours outdoors there–taking meticulous care of her home, made obvious by its impeccable landscaping, or spending time by or on the water. Boat rides around Magician Lake with her family, including her much loved dogs, Pepper and Belle, were some of her fondest memories.

Robin’s beautiful smile could light up a room, and her outgoing personality was a powerful presence. She will be remembered by all for her tenacity and remarkable work ethic. Robin’s career started at Honor Credit Union where she worked for a number of years. She later took a job at Four Winds Casino in Dowagiac, where she was a rockstar of a Cage Services Supervisor. Outside of work, Robin always kept busy. She served as the chair of Honor’s Relay for Life team and spent five years as Dowagiac’s band booster president, where she was affectionately referred to as Mama Robin by her band children. If she put her mind to something, there was no question she would accomplish it.

Robin was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Leck; stepfather, Ronald Leck; stepmother, Mary McCoy; and brother, Mark McCoy.

Left behind to cherish her memory are the love of her life, Todd Wilson of Sister Lakes; son, Brandon Wilson of Sister Lakes; daughter, Kendra (Layn) Reavis of Oak Harbor, WA; father, Craig McCoy (Sara Heuer) of Sister Lakes; sister, Kim (Mike) Zomer of Caledonia, MI; brother, Brett Radke of Dowagiac; her best friend, Lisa (Mike) Broderick of St. Joseph; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Please join us for a casual lakeside gathering with family and friends at the Wilson home on Magician Lake, 94990 62nd Street, Dowagiac, Michigan 49047 on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 5-6:30pm, where a time of sharing will begin at 6:30pm.
