Rodney's Obituary

Rodney Todd Dohm, 59, passed away peacefully June 3, 2024 at his home in Berrien Springs, MI with his loving wife, Nicole, at his side. Todd was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease shortly after his 56th birthday. His dementia progressed quickly.
He was born February 15, 1965 to Rodney and Maureen Dohm in Benton Harbor, MI. On December 19, 1992 he married Nicole (White-Polaskey) Dohm in Eau Claire, MI. Todd was a devoted husband to Nicole, and wonderful father to their 7 children: Steven (Meredith) Polaskey, Brandon (Lindsey) Polaskey, Nathan Dohm, Tyson Dohm, Avalon (Isaac) Dohm, Roger Dohm and great niece, Ava White who he loved like his own.
Todd was a provider and a helper. He loved spending time at his parents frequently having lunch in their house at what he called “Mo’s Diner” and spent countless hours in the barn with his dad. He was generous with his time often aiding people with just about anything he could. From a young age he loved turning wrenches and went on to make his living as a diesel mechanic. He was always happy to fix a car for his family, friends and fellow church members often taking care of their needs and being off to work before they were even awake.
Todd was always someone you could call when something needed done or you needed a helping hand. He did everything he could for his family and the glory of God without expecting anything in return. Todd was deeply religious, and enjoyed praying, attending Men’s Bible studies and volunteering at church throughout his adult life.
Todd was extremely proud of his children and liked to brag about each one of them. He was a strong and quiet man. Many that know him also know he had a strong sense of humor and would laugh at his own jokes. He loved cars, farming, God, and his family.
If you could look past his quiet and strong nature you could see that he was very gentle. He was always a supporter of his wife and children and loved spending time being Papa to his grandchildren. He did not always show his sensitive side but it shined through with his acts of kindness.
Todd was very loved and will be deeply missed. He was hardworking and busy almost non-stop during his time here with us and we are glad for him to finally get some rest.
In addition to his wife and children he is survived by his mother: Maureen Dohm; brothers: Bryan (Stacie) Dohm, Bradley Dohm; and treasured grandchildren: Arthur Polaskey, McKenna Polaskey and Lucy Polaskey. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Dohm in 1995 and father, Rodney O. Dohm in 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
