Roger's Obituary
Roger R. Staley, 96, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday morning, June 14, 2025, at his home with his daughters by his side.
He was born on April 27, 1929, in Dowagiac, the son of Rex and Gale (Beeching) Staley. On September 16, 1950, Roger was married to the former Beatrice I. Bray. He was employed by the Jessup Door Co in Dowagiac for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong devoted member of Dowagiac First Christian Church.
Surviving are his two daughters – Ellen Staley and Lois Staley; grandson, Dylan (Jennifer) Staley; two great-granddaughters, Vivan and Abby; and also extended family.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 54 years, Bea Staley; son, Mark Staley; and sister, Marilyn Smith.
A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center St, Dowagiac, where friends may visit with his family from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Rev. Rick Romeo will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Christian Church or Dowagiac Moose #933.
