Sherry's Obituary

Sherry Lynn Jannert, 59, of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, unexpectedly at her home.

Friends may visit with Sherry’s family from 2:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Home, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Sherry’s Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, November 24, at 11:00AM, at Clark Chapel with Rev. Comer Skinner, officiating. Burial will follow at Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery, Eau Claire. Memorial contributions can be made to Clark Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.

Sherry was born February 11, 1966, in Three Rivers, MI, the daughter of Jerry and Sharon (Kline) Lafler. She graduated from Centreville High School and married the love of her life, Rodney Jannert, May 24, 1997, at the Mt. Zion Church of Eau Claire. Sherry loved raising her daughter, Olivia, and later, being grandmother to her pride and joy, Kallie.

Sherry was a cook for the Eau Claire School System for 28 years and, also a farmer. She was the support system needed to keep the family business going. Cooking and baking were her favorite role and how she expressed her love.

Surviving are her husband – Rodney Jannert; daughter – Olivia (Matthew) Jannert; granddaughter – Kallie Jannert; mom – Sharon Lafler; siblings – John Lafler, Mike Lafler, Barb (Richard) Wise, Leann (Kurt) Miller, Kelly (Mike) Birkhold and Tom Lafler; nieces and nephews – Abby (Ryan) Sedlock, Ricky Wise, Matt Wise, Jessica Wise, Charlie Lafler, Becca Lafler, and Shelby Birkhold; and great-nieces and nephew.

Preceding her in death was her father – Jerry Lafler and sister-in-law - Marilyn Vergot.
