Sue's Obituary

On April 3rd of 2026, Sue Mayville was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.

Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is survived by her five sons – Michael (LaDene) Mayville, Bruce (Beverly) Mayville, Kevin Mayville, Robert (Holley) Mayville and Richard Mayville; grandchildren – Thomas, Adam, Matthew, Amber, Steven, Brian, James, Jack and Cecila; great grandchildren – Gabriel, Lucas, Christopher, Harrison, Anna, Anthony, Nora, Sophie, Chyanne and Logan; sister – Betty Bretto; and her special friend and companion Jerry. She was preceded in death by her father Vernon Simpson and mother Imogene (Petty) Simpson.

Sue grew up in Greenway, AR, and has lived in Taylor, MI, Farmington, MI, Livonia, MI and St. Joseph, MI. Sue was an excellent seamstress; and loved to crochet, play cards and games.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday - April 25, at 12:00pm, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville, MI, with Pastor Jesse Knox officiating. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the church.
