Theresa's Obituary

Theresa Schaub, 81, of Stevensville, MI passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 29, 2023 with prayers recited at 4:00 P.M., at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Theresa was born December 6, 1941 in Decatur, MI to Casimir & Julia (Wojdyla) Wiacek. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1960. Theresa met Leroy Schaub and the two were married October 11, 1969 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bangor, MI. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. Together they raised four children. Theresa stayed home with her children for many years. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also enjoyed baking pies for her family and cooking, especially holiday dinners and her favorite Polish foods. The family enjoyed many years of camping in the summers. Later, she began working at the Herald-Palladium Newspaper and did so for over 20 years. She was a member and volunteer of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a volunteer for Birthright. Her faith, family, and conservative Christian values were important to her.

Theresa is survived by her children: Ann (Michael) Schlender, Matthew Schaub, Catherine (Sean) Semancik, and Joan (Michael) Skipper; nine grandchildren: Brian, Alyssa, Sadie, Daisy, Aidan, Beckham, Cameron, Adam, and Jacob; sister, Lucy Arndt; and brother, Ed Wiacek; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Casey Wiacek and Irene Steinbach.
