Tom was born on July 21, 1947, to Donald and Estelle (Carlson) Pauley in Paw Paw, MI. He graduated from Lawrence High School and honorably served in the United States Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam Era. On June 21, 1986, he married the love of his life, Annette (Carrington) at a ceremony in Coloma.
Professionally, Tom served many years at DT Pier in Benton Harbor before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, sweets and watching sports, particularly basketball, an avid fan of Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics.
He was known for his quick wit and skillful negotiating, often engaging in lighthearted banter to strike a good deal. Above all, Tom will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He deeply valued time spent with loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Annette Pauley of Niles; children, William (Tracy) Parmer, Jr. of Helena, MS, James (Nancy) Parmer of Niles and Sherri (John) Parmer-Grover of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Mattie Parmer, Thomas Parmer, Lauren Baker, Evan (Lora) Essmyer, Kaitlyn Parmer, Daniel Essmyer, Dylan Walker and Bailey Walker; great-grandchildren, Beckem Baker, Edie Essmyer, Ezra Baker and Uly Essmyer; sister-in-law, Sue (Darren) Campbell; nieces & nephews, Ronda (Russ) Cross, Nanette (Don Price) Pauley, Don (Becky) Pauley and special friends, Betty Kroboth and Martha Massey.
