Vivian's Obituary

Vivian G. Lick, 92, of Buchanan, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her daughter, Angela’s home in Ludlow Falls, OH.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 212 W. Front St., Buchanan with Rev. Daniel Barz officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior, from 10-11 also at the church. Interment will follow in Glendora Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either of these two local entities.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Buchanan. Vivian was a lifelong member of this church and enjoyed many years of singing in the choir, assisting in the altar guild and donating for bazaars and luncheons. Donations will be distributed to the general church budget. Or Brew Ha Ha Cafe of Niles. Vivian was a huge fan of Coffee and Sweets- especially Barista Joyce’s Hot Caramel Lattes and Pumpkin Rolls. Donations will be distributed back to area coffee lovers via their “kitty fund” to share Vivian’s love of coffee. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel, Buchanan. Vivian was born on February 9, 1933, to Ralph and Alma (Ehlert) Huston in Baroda, MI. She graduated from Buchanan High School in 1951. Professionally, Vivian dedicated many years at Clark Equipment Company and Auto Specialties, both in the receiving department. Vivian also served at the Buchanan Library for twenty years.

On September 19, 1970, she married Duane “Teddy” Lick at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Buchanan. A hard worker and having many talents, Vivian enjoyed gardening, canning, driving tractors, crochet, ceramics, sewing and bowling, spending many years in bowling leagues. She also took part in Women’s Service League and Walther League. Most of all, she cherished time with her family.

Vivian is survived by her daughters Alyson (David) Olmstead and Angela (Leanne) Caddy; grandchildren, Amanda (Kent) Wetkowski and Anna (Tim) Bristle; great-grandchildren, Evan and Tyler Wetkowski and Skylar, Karly and Joshua Bristle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alma Huston; husband of 46 years, Duane; son, Robin Nelson and sister, Valerie Campbell.
