Walter's Obituary
Walter Friske, Jr, 89, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on October 13, 1936, in Dowagiac, the son of the late Walter Sr and Wilma (Deuel) Friske. Walt was an active member of Keeler Church of God and he had great respect and admiration for both Pastor Boyd and Alice Saylor.
Surviving are eight children, Jeff Friske, Patty Friske, Mike Friske, Tommy Friske, Carol Friske, Laura Friske, Christine Friske, and Sara Friske; numerous grandchildren; and brother, David Friske.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Johnny Friske; and sister, Velma Morford.
Friends may visit with Walt’s family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 17, at Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, 405 Center Street.
A service to celebrate Walt’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, at Keeler Church of God, 61783 Co Rd 687, Dowagiac. Pastor Boyd Saylor will officiate.
Private family inurnment will be in South Wayne Cemetery, Dowagiac.
