Walter J. Frontczak, 73, a lifelong resident of Dowagiac, passed away Thursday evening, November 13, 2025, at Beacon Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN, surrounded by family and loved ones.
He was born on March 19, 1952, in Dowagiac, the son of the late Walter and Gwendolyn (Jones) Frontczak. Walter was a 1970 graduate of Dowagiac Union High School. On July 17, 1986, he was united in marriage to Diana J. Doberstein.
Walt retired as a shipping and receiving supervisor at Farm and Fleet. He loved all kinds of sports, including coaching his children when they were young and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening, and he was a master chef in the kitchen. His specialty was Polish cuisine. He was an avid lover of all sports, starting with tennis in his younger years and most of all Michigan Wolverines. Go blue!! Walt's big personality and engaging storytelling, past and present, will be greatly missed by many.
