Warren's Obituary
Warren L. Weaver, 82, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Wellbrooke of South Bend. Arrangements have been entrusted to Swem Chapel & Cremation Services. Per Warren’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.swemchapel.com.
Warren was born on January 12, 1943, in Buchanan, to Glenn & Georgia (Topping) Weaver. Professionally, Warren served the City of Buchanan as a fireman for 35 years, and holding the title of Chief for 25 of those years. He also held the position of City Building Inspector for over 20 years, as well as City Commissioner for several years. Warren also enjoyed spending time working on a pig farm and running the equipment on a dairy farm. One of Warren’s favorite hobbies was going on a drive through the countryside; although it would take 2-3 hours he would take in the scenery and embrace the company and conversations that came with those drives. Later in life, Warren would marry Sandra “Sandy” Sherwood, on September 12, 2020. Although the two were only married for a short time they had over 60 years of friendship they shared together.
Warren is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Niles; daughter, Kelley Burks of Buchanan; grandchildren, Cheryl (Andy) Warner and one grandson; great-grandchildren, Cordelia, Winter, Lorrie and Agnes Warner; brother, Max (Nancy) Weaver; nephews, Domenick (Amber) Weaver, Russell (Diane) Thomas, and David (Tori) Wineger; step-sons, Jon (Debbie) Sherwood, Tom (Sabrinia) Sherwood, and Scott (Lynda) Sherwood all of Niles; and step-grandchildren, Ellie & Leighton Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Georgia; first wife, Retha; daughter, Glenda Weaver; brother, Glenn “Sonny” Weaver; and son-in-law, Steve Burks.
