Willard L. Friend “Bill” passed away at home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Born on February 10, 1942 in Alvin Missouri to Harold and Floney Friend. United in marriage on November 4, 1961 to Linda Lou Sims.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years Linda, daughter Patrice and son Keith Friend.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Floney Friend, siblings Steve Friend and Susan Timmons.
Bill grew up in this area, attended Watervliet High School. After High School he enlisted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He also married Linda Sims that same year. In 1981 Bill and Linda adopted Keith. One year later they adopted Patrice. Bill worked at GTE phone company for many years, retired to farming and enjoyed many outdoor activities.
