William James “Bill” Miller, 76, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to The Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 5400 S. Niles Rd, St. Joseph, MI., 49085. Bill was born July 26, 1945 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Orville & Evelyn (Harner) Miller. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, the class of 1963. Bill worked in many different careers, including a Police Officer for Benton Harbor, he owned his own car dealership, Bill Miller Auto Sales in St. Joseph and his last job was in sales for first responders in the communication field. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, flying R.C. radio-controlled helicopters, fast cars and motorcycles and he spoiled his two dogs (Shelby and Sammie). His favorite past-time was spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife: Carol (Leathers) Miller, daughters: Tammy Dollar of St. Joseph and Wendy (Mark) Morauske of Eau Claire, grandchildren: Andrew Dollar, Morgan Dollar, Nicholas Morauske and Zachary Morauske. Also, his step-children: Jeremiah McMillin, Tara McMillin (Rob Watkins), Carrie (Chris) Piechocki, and Daniel (Jodi) Sheets, 7 step-grandsons and 1 step-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pat Jenkins.
