William's Obituary
William F. Story, 98, of Stevensville, MI, passed away in his home on Friday – February 9, 2024. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
William was born on June 4, 1925, in Benton Harbor, MI to the late Roy and Orla (Hosbein) Story. He was a graduate of St. John Catholic Schools. William served his country while in the U.S. Navy. On February 3, 1951, he married Norma Fisher; she preceded him in death on September 14, 2014. He was a member of St. John/Bernard Parish in Benton Harbor.
William is survived by his children – James (Wanda) Goetting, Joseph (Donna) Story, Patrick (Gay) Story, William (Dee Dee) Story, Jr., Timothy (Colleen) Story, Christine Sheffield, Kevin Story, John (Linda) Story, Daniel Story, Theresa (Doug) Hovenstine, Donald (Lisa) Story and Brian (Angela) Story; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by a son – Phillip Story; sister – Dorothy; and brothers – Harold, Don, Richard and Robert.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday – February 15, 11:00am, at St. Bernard’s Church – 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor, MI, with Father John Peter Ambrose officiating. Burial follows at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville, MI. Visitation with the family is on Wednesday – February 14, from 5:00-7:00pm, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel in St. Joseph.
