Wilma's Obituary

Wilma Mabel Marschke, 101, of Berrien Springs, MI, passed away on Sunday – March 2, 2025, at Buchanan Meadows in Buchanan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel – 8747 US 31 in Berrien Springs, MI.

Wilma was born on Aug. 26, 1923 in Sodus, MI, to the late Adolph and Olga (Krieger) Schaenfeld.

On Oct. 25, 1947 in Sodus, she married Milton Henry Marschke; he preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2011. Wilma is survived by her four children – Nancy (Kurt) Weber of Bainbridge Township, MI, Joanne (Frank) Arford of Plainfield, IL, Diane (Eric) Gohlke of Belmont, MI, and Ron (Victoria) Marschke of Berrien Springs, MI; grandchildren – Kimberly (Carl) Hardt, Kyle (Melissa Morlock) Weber, Rachel (Graham Hall) Arford, Lisa (Scott Sandage) Arford, Kate (Ryan Lee) Arford, Erin (Josh) Teitsma, Megan Gohlke, Brian (Ashley) Marschke and Brett Marschke; and sixteen great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death are two brothers and four sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 6, at 10:30am, at Trinity Lutheran Church – 9123 George Ave., Berrien Springs, with Pastor James Wright officiating. Visitation precedes the service from 9:30-10:30am at the church. Burial follows the service at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Wilma was blessed to live a very full life and will be remembered as a timeless worker who loved her family and her farm above all else. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. The last year of her life was spent at the Buchanan Meadows Assisted Living Facility, and the family thanks the staff for their kindness in taking care of their mother.
