Joanne,
We share your loss. Jay was a positive influence on my life beginning with our first meeting when I was a student in high school at Lakeshore and continuing through the years. Jay was a kind positive person and consummate professional. A true role model. Sharon and I extend our sincere condolences .

In honor of Jay, Ed Dunn lit a candle.
Jay was a true gentleman, a great dad and a perfect life partner for Joanne. He was also a consummate professional, generous community and church volunteer and an unselfish mentor and advisor to many grateful people throughout his career. He could quietly be as stern and as serious as a rock; but could party and polka with the best. Wishing peace for Joanne and the family.

Dear Van Den Berg Family...Jay and I had so many community contacts over so many years including United Way, SJ-BH Rotary Club and Whirlpool...always with his great smile and his quiet and insightful observations. I am so very sorry to read of his passing, far far too young.
Sincerely,

To Joanne and the girls, Sorry isn't enough but I'll say it anyway. I know what you are going through and sorry is not enough. Jay was "always" nice to me, but he was "always" a nice person. I feel bad at the loss of him.
Joanne, if you want company crying call me, my living room floor can take the tears. It helps.
