A huge loss to the Racine family. She is part of us. I am inspired by her strength and will to overcome challenges. My memories of her are filled with warmth and positive energy. Always a big smile and such a wonderful laugh. She was making meals and giving my family comfort within a couple weeks of her passing. Aunt Nancy will be missed greatly.

Hello dear cousin... we lost touch through the years, but, I have endearing and sweet memories of you and your siblings being an integral part of my growing up and feeling connected and part of a family. It has always been a point of regret for me, that I did not make more of an effort to stay connected and to know you and your family. Blessings on you and all of your people.
Much love, your cousin Scott Tompkins

Aunt Nancy told me that when she received a call from her doctor and was told that she had six months to live, she hung up the phone and started doing pushups. That was about six years ago.
Active and engaging, Aunt Nancy loved to laugh and wanted to know what’s going on with you on a personal level. She was quick to encourage, always kind, loving, and caring. In Aunt Nancy I learned to never give up, do the work, give back, and be compassionate.
The world is a better place because of Aunt Nancy’s lasting influence on the people she knew and loved.

A great life ended way too soon! She was such a great person who gave so much the entire time that she fought for her life. There is no doubt that her spirit lives on through her incredible family. She will be missed and remembered.

We shall all miss Nancy and think of her often as a kind and loving spirit; so easy to get to know and love. Her gift to us all was that we are better people for having known her. With love and great sympathy, Cindy and Les Miller

Nancy was a truly beautiful person, I am saddened by her passing, she left a large foot print. She rejoins Pete on what would have been their 50th Anniversary. Stacy and Charlie my sympathy on the passing of both your parents they leave a beautiful legacy for you to cherish and made SW Michigan a much better place. May her spirit truly soar. Jim Horan

We have lost a true community leader with the passing of Nancy. As the executive director of the Krasl Art Center for 25 years (1981-2006) I observed first hand the generosity of both Nancy and her late husband Pete. In 2005 both Grande Mere Inn and the Krasl celebrated 25th anniversaries. A wonderful party was held at the art center in 2005 to celebrate the anniversaries and hundreds of Krasl members and patrons were able to enjoy the delicious food prepared at no charge by Pete, Nancy and their staff. We will all miss Nancy's bright smile and her kind and generous ways. Dar Davis

Charley and Family - I am sorry to hear about your mother's passing. She was a wonderful lady and always remembered to make a special vegetarian item for my wife and me whenever we had soccer gatherings at your place. She was the reason I got to know Charley --- providing the "funding" for private goalkeeping lessons on the St. Joe baseball field way back in 1987! My sister, Carole (Mrs. Fowler) also sends her condolences.
