Cheryl's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Cheryl here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
My children were blessed to be in the amazing care of Mommy Cheryl! She was such an important part of their young lives. She was so much more than our "day care" -- she helped me be a better mom and a better teacher. She was a very important part of our lives. She and Frank (and the kids) watched our first born as we delivered the second. They were the first phone call we made to tell them he had arrived (on Cheryl's birthday!). Thank you Frank, Missy, Staci, Kyle, and Paul for sharing her with us. Love to you all -- Carole Fetke (and Tyler Allen, Anthony Allen, and Alyssa (Allen) Baxter).

I am so sad to hear that Cheryl passed away. I feel like part of my childhood has been removed. I have known Cheryl almost my entire life. Our family moved to East Monroe St. in 1954 and I believe Cheryl's family already lived there. I can't remember if Cheryl was in Mrs. Burbank's Kindergarten Class in 1953, at Austin Blair, but she may have been. We went through Austin Blair, East Intermediate and Jackson High School together. Our house was only about 500 feet from where Cheryl and her family lived. I knew both of her parents, who were fine people, and her brother Scott too. Cheryl was definitely part of the neighborhood gang. About the only sport she didn't play, with the rest of us, was football but I am not sure if she didn't try that a couple of times! Cheryl had a lovely smile and was a beautiful, beautiful person. I sure wish I could have seen her one last time. My heart goes out to her family. We have all lost a very wonderful person.

To the Querbach family, I was greatly saddened to learn of Cheryl's passing. Having spent quite a bit of time with CQ at Smith-Dahmer, it was very apparent how much she loved, cared, and worried about all of you as well as being proud of every one of you. She had a big heart for her family, friends, and critters. She was a fun and very interesting lady. She will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sympathy to you all.

CQ was such a warm and caring person. I am lucky to have gotten the chance to work along side her for 8 years at Smith-Dahmer. She would get fired up when we would drop things off on her desk late, but you knew deep down she would only be mad at your for a minute or two. I remember she would always greet you with a big smile and hugs whenever you needed them. She will be missed by her friends and family.
