My name is Tom Boyle and I just received the bad news that Greg had past away . I had the pleasure of knowing Greg through my friend Cheryl for most of high school and college. Greg was the nicest and toughest guy I have ever met . Throughout my times being invited up at the lake Greg was always so nice and always willing to take you out skiing and trying to dump you in the wake. I am sorry Cheryl for you and your husband and Greg’s wife’s and children for your tremendous loss Your mother and father will welcome Greg with open arms. God bless Greg and the Smith family.

I knew Greg from grammar school, Brother Rice High School and living near his Oak Lawn home. We hung out sometimes and he gave me some treefrogs he probably got from Michigan. I joined the St Germaine 5th-6th grade football team as a 4th grader because my brothers were on the team. When Greg found out he joined about a week later. I remember Coach Blakely had him run a play in a scrimmage and he ran over everyone and scored. I was never that good but Greg went on to start as a running back and play in high school and college. He was always a nice and generous person.
REST IN PEACE FRIEND.
