Early Wednesday morning the world lost one of the sweetest, kindest, true gentleman left on this earth! My Father-in-law Joe Monacelli passed away in the early morning hours. Joe may have been a tiny man in stature but was a giant in my eyes and to all that knew him. Always caring about others before himself, always a kind word, always full of amazing wisdom. How lucky I am to have fallen in love with his incredible daughter who is so much like him and embraced by his loving family that help make my life complete. I feel very blessed to have had Joe as my other father and I know he and my Dad are both looking down and watching over all of us. You will be deeply missed Joe but I will see you every time I look into our sons eyes. You will be in all of our hearts forever but how we will all miss you!

Thinking of you Cheryl, Doug and Mark....I had great times with your Dad over the past 10 years. Golfing, family outings and gatherings and most of all getting to know him last summer as we drove back and forth to Kalamazoo. I loved his sense of humor, his bravery and his selflessness. He was truly a gentle soul and will be missed by us all.

Dear Monacelli Family: Grandpa Joe was so special to all of us. We will miss his cordial handshakes and warm hugs. He was a keen competitor for many years as we all gathered for the Labor Day horseshoe tournament. We all hope to bowl as long as he did! We will greatly miss his homemade libations which brought joy to us all. Thanks for "sharing" such a loving parent and grandpa. God bless America and these valiant servicemen.

Joe had many friends here at Village Market! It is with much regret that we watched as Joe slowed down these past few months and have already missed his daliy visits. He was never in a rush, never rude or cranky - just a very nice man -in fact he knew many of us by name! We all would try to be the first to the lottery counter because we knew if you were the one who sold Joe that winner he always shared! Rest in peace Joe!

Joe was the oldest living cousin from our generation and I am the youngest. I remember him well as always having a smile on his face and something good to say. My Dad, Nunzio (Duke) DiLaura loved "Joey", as he always referred to him. My sympathy goes out to his entire family for their loss. We, have lost another of the great generation. Good bye cousin Joey and thanks for all you did. Chuck
