Don was quite a person: Quietly dignified, hard-working and self-sufficient. A good man in every way. He was a gentle and loving man. He was a lot of fun, too. I liked teasing him about his Chicago teams. We were all blessed to have known and loved him. I'll miss him very, very much.

Dad, Again I just want to say "I love you." It was just too soon to let you go. I am so thankful for all your love, guidance and support you gave me growing up and into my adult years. I am the person I am today because of YOU. I so admired your loyalty, compassion, dedication, integrity and many many of your other attributes. You and Polly were always there for me. I'm so going to miss your calls for help with your computer problems. You were so determined to catch up with the computer age and you did great...even though you would get so frustrated at times. You are going to be dearly missed by many others besides your family. You have left a hole in many hearts. Those holes will headed in time and filled again. We will be okay and continue forward, but things just won't be the same without you. You can rest in peace knowing that we will always look after, and take care of the love of your life, Polly. I hope that Bush kitty is resting peacefully in your lap. Hugs and kisses dad!! All my love forever...your daughter, Cathy.

Dear Polly and Family: We are truly saddened to learn of Don's passing - but grateful to know that both Lindie and Julie are there to bring you comfort during these very difficult times. I have known Don since our days at South Haven High School and remember him as a quiet, gentle and loving person. I had the pleasure of serving with Don for a period of time during WW II, and am pround to call him my "comrade". Don was a pillar in the South Haven community and will long be remembered by all of those who knew him and loved him. PLease be comforted by these precious words from the Holy Scriptures: "Fear Not, For I Will Never Leave Thee Or Forsake Thee".

I am saddened to learn of Don's passing. What a good man... I will always remember him approaching me and my "after work gang" at our table at the old Dry Dock, and him always refering to me as "El Marko"... You'll be missed Don...

To Don's family, Sorry to hear about Don. I worked for him in the late 70's at the Derby and continued as patron during the Dry Dock yrs. Don was a very nice, gentle person and a pleasure to work for. I haven't lived in the area for 20 years, but was happy to hear he had found love and peace in his later years. My thoughts go out to you all during this difficult time.
