Michael Ray's Obituary
Michael Ray Todd Sr., 48, of Bangor died Monday, February 1, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born July 15, 1961 in Eugene, Oregon to Marvin Ray and Carolyn J. (Kress) Todd. Michael graduated from South Haven High School in 1979. He married Mitzi Sicard on August 21, 1982 in South Haven at the First Congregational Church.
Michael worked as the Millwork Department Manager at Lowes in Benton Harbor for the past 2 years. Prior to that he worked for Lowes at the Holland store. Michael also worked for the South Haven Fire Department for 10 years and presently with the Bangor Community Fire Department for the past 6 years. In 2008, Michael received the “Fireman of the Year Award.” As a hobby, Michael enjoyed bee keeping and motorcycles. Michael belonged to the Sons of the American Legion in Bangor.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife – Mitzi Todd of Bangor, Michigan. Three children – Margaret Todd of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Todd Jr. of Bangor, Michigan and Matt Todd of Bangor, Michigan. One brother – Jason (Lisa) Todd of South Haven, Michigan and one sister – Cherie (Darrel) Hartman of Sturgis, Michigan.
Visitation will be from 5-8 on Friday, February 5 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the Bangor High School Auditorium with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Bangor Community Fire Department, 417 W. Arlington St., Bangor, MI 49013.
