George "Buddy"'s Obituary
George “Buddy” Warren, 78, of South Haven died Tuesday, November 25 at home.
He was born June 4, 1930 in Princeton, New Jersey to George S.W. and Margaret M. (Doohan) Warren. Buddy graduated with a Bachelors Degree in education from Notre Dame. He married Maureen Flynn on July 14, 1965 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Buddy taught high school history, economics and politics for 46 years retiring in 1997. While teaching Buddy also enjoyed coaching track and football. Buddy was a member of the Cum Laude Society as well as St. Basil Catholic Church. Buddy enjoyed painting with pastels, flowers at home, Lake Michigan and Norte Dame Football along with all sports.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by father and mother- in-law– Bernard & Bernadette Flynn and brother-in-law - Fred Hartfield.
He is survived by his wife – Maureen Warren of South Haven, Michigan. Sister and brother-in-laws – Mary Hartfield of Bloomingdale, Michigan, Joseph (Janice) Flynn of Gobles, Michigan, James Flynn and Veronica Flynn, Jerry Flynn all of Allegan, Michigan, Colleen (Robert) Taylor of Naples, Florida, Michael (Sheryl) Flynn of Allegan, Michigan, Gabe (Joan) Flynn of South Haven, Michigan and Edward (Mary) Flynn of Allegan, Michigan.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 30 from 2 – 5 at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. A scripture service will begin a 4:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 1 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Basil Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Burial will take place at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Allegan, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to Donors Choice.
